DBP is reinforcing its efforts towards the sustainable development of Agusan del Norte with its support for key development projects in the province.
The bank has recently signed a P364.6-million term loan facility with the Butuan City Water District (BCWD) to finance the construction of a deep well, rehabilitation of booster pump station, acquisition of brand new hydraulic backhoe excavator, and other initiatives that will enable the water district to better serve the water supply requirements of 234,193 consumers.
The project is expected to also minimize health risks brought about by waterborne diseases due to the use of highly-corroded pipes. The rehabilitation of the booster pump station is likewise expected to increase and stabilize water pressure in highly elevated barangays while the deep well will serve as an alternative source of water and avoid interruptions of water supply in the city.
The bank has likewise signed a P200-million term loan with the provincial government of Agusan del Norte for the construction of its new provincial capitol which will be located in Cabadbaran City. The new government center is expected to create an atmosphere conducive to business transactions, improve the provincial government’s efficiency of service, and stimulate economic activity in the City and neighboring municipalities. The envisioned two-storey modern edifice to be constructed on a 14.7-hectare lot with a total floor area of 6,000 square meters is also seen to represent the economic growth of the province.
DBP will continue to strengthen its partnership with the public and private sectors in the provision of basic services and infrastructure investments in the countryside.
